Gas prices climb for 20th day

CNN Money -- NEW YORK - Gas prices continued their march toward $4 on Monday, rising for the 20th day in a row.

The nationwide average rose to $3.70 a gallon, up one cent from a day earlier, according to the motorist group AAA.

Only a month ago, the nationwide average was $3.41 a gallon.

Average prices for regular gasoline are more than $4 a gallon in California, Alaska and Hawaii. Gas prices are just shy of the $4 mark in New York, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C., according to AAA. The lowest average gas prices are in Wyoming and Colorado, where a gallon is going for less than $3.20.

Gas prices have been rising on the back of soaring oil prices, which have surged 10% over the past month amid fears that tensions with Iran will lead to an all-out war that causes a disruption in oil supplies.

FACTS: The Facts about High Gas Prices Obama Can't Deny High profile publishers on the Left are attempting to blame speculators for ongoing price hikes in gas and oil. Those same publishers, Kos is one example, claim the Right is attempting to damage President Barack Obama in an election year by holding him accountable for higher gas and energy costs. That simply won’t wash because Obama publicly pushed for higher US energy costs before he became president when he admitted his policies would cause electricity rates to “skyrocket.” He made that statement during an interview with The San Francisco Chronicle in January, 2008. Americans, swayed heavily by Democrat Allied Media, voted for Obama anyway. Obama’s energy secretary Steven Chu also admitted Obama's policies would cause energy rates to rise. Listen to Chu offer a rambling theory about curtailing oil usage in the US and listen to him describe how great it will be when China and India increase levels for their goods in the global market. Obama counted on decreased revenues from production, that’s plain to see in the figures he included in his FY13 budget. First Bill Clinton and then George W. Bush promoted energy policies that were friendlier to US consumers than those of Obama. That’s a fact the Left can’t deny. Besides that, there's plenty Obama can do to offer Main Street relief. After all, Obama admitted it himself in advance. Whatever their motives, Obama and Chu’s policies weaken both the economic clout and national security of the United States. The Left simply cannot deny what the president has already admitted. Obama OWNS these high gas prices directly by his actions, his Administrations actions, and by his total lack of any action or policy that benefits Americans! .
